Grand Teton National Park North for Flight Simulator 2000
By Skip’s Scenery for FS2K / Skip M.

The photo textured scenery covers approximately 30km by 15 km, from Bivouac Peak to Grassy
Lake Reservoir, just south of Yellowstone National Park.

This scenery may be used alone but I recommend using it with Grand Teton South (gteton_s.zip)
and Mt. Moran (mt_moran.zip).

Programs used in building this scenery were:
TerraBuilder Lite for the photo textured area
http://www.terrabuilder.com

BmpCrop and Bmp2000 for finalizing textures.
http://www.mnwright.freeserve.co.uk/index.htm

Mesh area with Microsoft Terrain SDK.

This scenery was made using USGS elevation data and USGS Digital Orthophoto Quadrangle.

THANK YOU for trying my scenery, hope you enjoy it.

If you installed my Grand Teton South scenery you can install this scenery in the same folder
and skip steps 3-5.

Suggested installation:

Step 1: If you're using winzip just extract using folder names to the folder you put your
add-on scenery in. Example e:\fsscenery

Step 2: Start FS2000

Step 3: Click on World (Alt-W), go to the SCENERY LIBRARY, go to "Add Area" and
find the folder "Grand Tetons" in e:\fsscenery\(or the folder you used in step one). Name it "Grand Tetons" and click "Ok".

Step 4: CLOSE FS2000

Step 5: Start FS2000

Take off from Jackson Hole, Wyoming (IJAC). Fly north.

Known issues:
The default scenery shows through along the edges of the Photo textured scenery.
If you're on or near the ground you may see some strange effects around the edges.
The file teton_n_dist.bgl is only here so the scenery will show up from farther away. There are holes in it where you are flying towards the mountains and they disappear then will reappear. I tried to keep areas from overlapping too much, which causes the holes. (overlapping lowers frame rates as it draws the same thing over itself and each area is sphere-shaped)
If areas of Jackson Lake show different color, you may need to set your Land class complexity to extremly dense (full right)
If you don't have the sceneries, Grand Teton South and Mt Moran, delete underteton.bgl

If you have frame rate problems here are a few things you can try:
Rename the file teton_n_mesh.bgl - teton_n_mesh.bgl.bak or delete it.
Rename the file teton_n_dist.bgl - teton_n_dist.bgl.bak or delete it.
Move the display option sliders to the left; they have no effect on the quality of this scenery, with the exception of Land class complexity listed above.
Of course other visual problems will show up by making these changes.
